In this recording, a nearby cricket stands out. -----recorded with a zoom h1 with two sony lavaliere microphones attached, tucked into home-made felt pouches as windscreens, which i suspended from my glasses frames.

This is a cricket that was chirping outside of my apartment. There a few loud chirps at the beginning, followed by several softer chirps. I was able to get my recorder pretty close the cricket, so the sounds came out pretty good. I recorded this with a tascam dr-07 portable recorder.

Proper rainforest simulation this- a low-pass filter self-oscillating, with a lot of modulation, run through both a delay and a reverb. The result was not recorded off the mixer, but by means of a hand-held zoom h1n, giving it an ‘outdoor’ ambience.
